Discotheques and night clubs must keep their doors closed until a vaccine against the corona virus is on the market. Prime Minister Mark Rutte reported this during the corona press conference on Tuesday evening, October 13th, 2020.

Initially, clubs and discotheques could open again from September 1, but this was postponed indefinitely at the beginning of September. In view of the continuing risk of contamination, the government considers a reopening of nightlife too dangerous.

Interest association Nachtbelang sent a letter to Prime Minister Rutte last month with an urgent request for help. According to Nachtbelang, which represents 100 clubs, 4500 companies, and about 750000 employees, there is a lack of perspective for the industry.
